ReOrbit Appoints Simon Wheeler as VP of Software

ReOrbit, a leading manufacturer for sovereign communications satellites, has appointed Simon Wheeler as VP of Software, effective August 2025.
Simon brings over two decades of experience in the space and telecommunications industries, having held senior roles at Thales Alenia Space, SCISYS, and other engineering-focused companies. His expertise spans the full software product life cycle, from embedded flight systems to ground operations, AIT and EGSE—alongside experience in managing safety-critical systems and leading cross-functional engineering teams.
“Simon’s deep experience in software engineering and leadership across both embedded and mission-critical systems makes him an ideal fit to lead ReOrbit’s software efforts,” said Sethu Saveda Suvanam, CEO and Founder of ReOrbit. “As we continue to advance our software-defined satellite architectures, his experience and leadership skills will be key assets ensuring mission success,” Suvanam continues.
“I am excited to join ReOrbit to help enable the trans-national software team in producing best-in-class solutions to match the growing importance of Space applications in modern life and help make the planet a better place to live than when I first entered it,” commented Simon Wheeler
